Welcome to I Solemnly Swear! ISS is an active, literate/advanced Marauders-era roleplay based in the Marauders' sixth year. Please sign up with your character's First and Last name in Titlecase (e.g., Lily Evans).
The beginning of the summer holidays are a much-needed break from the stress of schoolwork, exams, and the like. It has been a difficult year for everyone, what with the dark events happening during term, and the increasing panic and fear outside the school's walls. Now, with a fresh batch of graduates to go face the world, everybody must still be on their guard, because anything might happen, and everyone must be prepared to face it one way or another.

infinite YEARS OLD
Rep: 0 pts
Jan. 2014 - ? (in character: January 1977 - ?)
Students seem to be settling back in after the excitement of the holidays. Exams are much closer this side of Christmas break, with OWLs approaching for fifth years and NEWTs on the horizon for the seventh years. The sixth years will be learning Apparition soon and of course, for fifth years and seventh years alike, there will be discussions of The Future with the heads of houses. But the reality of the outside world is not forgotten: deaths are on the rise, Muggles are disappearing left-and-right, and the echo of a Dark Mark over Hogsmeade is still heavy in the memories of students and professors. The killer is still loose, and with zero leads, danger is apparent in every turn.
Sept. - Dec. 2013 (in character: December 1976 - January 1977)
With Christmas holidays right around the corner, students have been anxiously preparing - for Quidditch, for the Yule Ball, for going home, and for end-of-the-year tests. Now, with only days to go, they're preparing to let loose and enjoy themselves. But the outside world doesn't stop turning for youth, and darkness seems to be closing in on Hogwarts. On the eve of the Yule Ball, a Dark Mark was released into the sky above Hogsmeade Village. A pureblood journalist, Christian Khan, had been ruthlessly murdered and left hanging from a tree, his body drained of blood. His murder sent a shocking message to both Muggle-borns and Muggle-supporting-purebloods alike: You absolutely are not safe from harm. If you are a blood traitor, then you don't deserve to have the blood in your body...
May - Sept. 2013 (in character: November - December 1976)
Now, more than ever, students need distractions from the darkness outside of Hogwarts, as it has started to creep inward. Thalia Lestrange and Imogen Sauveterre had their Hallowe'en party all planned out: invite-only, costumes and masks, hidden in the Hole in the Wall, and alcohol-free for the least amount of trouble. Things were going well, until somehow the Boggart Curse began affecting all partygoers, causing them to see things straight out of nightmares. Friends turned into creatures, drinks turned to blood, screams turned to roars - and it was all a mass hallucination. The aftermath of the Hallowe'en party still has students and staff rattled. Although no one was hurt (or expelled, thankfully), the cause of the incident is still unknown. The message, however, is clear: Hogwarts is not indestructible, and the easiest way for it to all apart is from the inside. Be careful who you trust these days...

Dear Student, We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on 1st September. We await your owl by no later than 31st July.
The Marauders are in their sixth year and the term has only just begun. Already, the school is rife with unsettling whispers. Whispers of a rising power, a dark power who's name people have begun to fear, so much so that saying it out loud without wanting to look over one's shoulder is a difficulty.
James, Sirius, Remus, Peter and their classmates, however, are too busy studying for their sixth year (read: wreaking havoc, because who studies that hard during their sixth year anyway? Everyone knows the NEWT year is the most important) to be bothered by such troublesome things. They are much more concerned with enjoying their last two years at Hogwarts and dealing with the ups and downs of being a teenager, including the various relationships they've formed, whether friend, foe or lover. But how long can the Hogwarts students continue to be unaffected by the events taking place outside? Hogwarts is considered the safest place in the wizarding world, but for how long will that remain true?
